Yesterday Chris got a most unusual phone call from one of the state ISTA officers. Apparently, Hillary Clinton will be on the "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" show on ABC Sunday morning. It's going to be a roundtable discussion live from Indiana; I think the ultimate goal is to make a hard push to get more voters before the Indiana Primary on Tuesday. So anyway, to make a long story short, the National Educators Association contacted ISTA because Clinton wants to have about 10 teachers from Indiana to sit on the roundtable and ask questions. And Chris is one of the 10 teachers that have been selected!!! It's soooooo cool! So tomorrow morning he has to go to the Conrad hotel in downtown Indy, where he will not only get to meet Hillary Clinton, he will also be on national TV! My little superstar!!!
He's supposed to be sitting in the front row, and since there will only be about 20-30 people in the room (all of the others are NEA big wigs), he will definitely be visible. We're not sure if his question will be selected (apparently, NEA writes the questions and gives them to Clinton's advisors in advance, and then she selects the questions she wants to answer. If your question is picked then you get to ask it on TV), so I don't know if he will actually speak or not. But you'll definitely be able to see him!
It's really ironic because we were just talking the other day about what he would have wanted to do if he hadn't gone into teaching. And guess what his selection was: Broadcast Journalism!!!
So for those of you that want to tune in, it will be the "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" show on ABC Sunday at 11:00. For those of you in different states, you might check the time. Here's the link to the shows website for more information... http://blogs.abcnews.com/thisweek/2008/05/coming-up-a-spe.html

I wish I would have checked blogs over the weekend! Sorry I missed Chris's television appearance...how did it go? Did he get to ask his question? Did he get to have his picture taken with Hillary?
We got to catch Chris on tv Sunday morning. (Actually we recorded it and fast-forwarded through the boring parts, but that is beyond the point.) How cool! We especially loved the close-up of him when they were asking the question about the African American organization. Too bad he didn't get to ask his question!
